Samuel had practiced as a graphic designer and illustrator in Northern California for most of his career. Having a high regard for landscape painting and sculpture, as a medium that captures the soul, his path was given and his move to metal came to fruition.
“The Beauty of the dimensional metal sculpture is that light plays a huge role in the interpretation of the viewer. As in nature, viewing the piece at different times of natural light throughout the day changes the interpretation of the work.”
“Metalscapes” have been the most gratifying experience in his expression of art. “There is a unique expression of emotion that is created by hand and element, creating in this medium is an aspect of something abstract, especially one that feels essential to it’s particular characteristic.
Each of us has experienced a moment in time or of movement that can lock itself into our perception of that experience. It’s a challenge and a gift at the same time to create something that hopefully one can feel apart of and experience that moment.
